This breed of dog was mainly used for farming work. They were also good as pets.

Appearance

This dog has a powerful body; and also has a rough coat to give it a rugged appearance. This gives an impression of the strength and size without any sort of heaviness or clumsiness. Its head is quite uniquely shaped and it is emphasized by a heavy mustache and beard. The tail and ears of this breed of dog are cropped. It weighs around 100 – 120 ponds (45 – 55 kg). They also have a thick fur coat and the color of this coat may be grey brindle, black or fawn.

Temperament

Bouvier des Flandres has a gentle, rational, protective and loyal nature. They are good as pets and are efficient guard dogs. They have intelligence, complex control and accountability traits.

History

Bouvier des Flandres originated in Flanders.

Health

Bouvier des Flandres often suffers from eye problems like cataracts and hip dysplasia. This breed of dog can tolerate pain very easily and the veterinarians cannot diagnose their disease so easily.

I have no qualms in recommending the Secrets to Dog Training package to anyone who owns, or is thinking about owning, a dog. You don’t need to have a “problem pet” for the book to be of assistance: there’s information included that can be useful to any and all dog owners.

From personal experience, the only other thing I would do is upgrade to the Secrets to Dog Training premium version because it has an online video series that is excellent as well as software which allows you to keep track of all the necessary and important details about your dog such as medical history, vaccinations, operations, appointments, obedience training, and much more.
